I don't believe Catholics should accept gay marriage, until they see homosexuality as something not worthy of hell. It's of no use for people who aren't catholic to argue about it, because they shouldn't have a say in the matter. As for gay catholics, my heart goes out to them, because the catholic comunity, and understandibly so, moves a little behind society in order to be able to discern from what's a trend and what's really a change. It is a complicated matter, one that buggles me daily. In the end, I think one must be faithful to his/her own conciense. If I were gay and wanted to marry, I'd probably try tohave a state marriage and- since marriage is the only sacrament not imparted by the priest, but by the two people marrying and the witnesses- trust god will see it as valid. Do I make sense?

Very much so, I agree completely with what you have to say, I don't understand what the big deal about gay marriage is, there are so many people against it, and I'm not sure of what in the world is wrong with it.

Personally, I'm for gay marriage. It seems to me that there is no logic in outlawing it. Who are people to judge what things like these are right or wrong. Basically, it all comes down to morals. The problem with gay marriage in the catholic church is that it is in debate on whether the bible forbids it or not. Since it appears to not be in it, it comes to a personal choice. Therefore, the church should have no say in what their follower's sexuality is. However there will always be people whom are offended by the act of another. Its just the way the world works.

Actually, the belief that the church and the followers are two separate things is a misconception. All catholics comform the church, and the problem with marriage is that it is a sacrament, changing it would mean a very big deal to all catholics. I'm pro gay marriage too, but I'm against people making an issue about the attitude the catholics have towards it. It's not like protestants are all that better. It is society the one who's fucked up, and the catholics are just a part of it-

This whole thing strangely reminds me of how we used to treat blacks. Not letting them in certain restraunts, etc. I mean, I know gays aren't a "race" or anything, but shouldn't all sexualities be accepted just as all races are?

Yeah I see your point. Sexualtiy and race are two different things... but you see where I was coming from, right?

In the end, I'm definately for gay marriage. In my opinion, they should just allow it in all of the US. The catholics just need to suck it up and get on with their lives, and then everyone would be happy. >_>
